Here is a great picture of Gandalf, our 80+ pound Pitty. Megan dresses him up occasionally. He’s hilarious looking with eyebrows drawn on.

Now that the weather has warmed up, and the spring winds have died down, it is time to start enjoying the back deck.

We are down 8 bulbs do to a wind storm last week. But it is still plenty of light to relax, drink some coffee and read a bit.

I finally got around to making myself a bed. It’s only been a year and a half. I haven’t stained it yet. Not sure if I will or not. I kind of like the bare wood look.

Next up, end tables.

Working on getting the back patio ready for summer. Hung up the sun shade, with a temp pole through the patio table. Hung a set of old fashion lights to test length, etc. Now to pick up 3 more sets to for an ex. Move the BBQ out, do some land scaping. It is going to be nice.

This is how I start my morning on the  weekends. Now that it has warmed up enough to enjoy the morning outdoors.

Gandalf and I sit on the upper deck, I drink coffee and read, he watches the world. Take an hour or so to just relax.

Weekdays are, get up, make lunches, chug coffee, clean up, take kids to school, go to work, go go go. But weekends, I sleep in til 8 or 9, if I’m being lazy. Sip my coffee and enjoy the world view for a bit.

Madrid New Mexico is a cross between abandoned mining town, art colony, and biker hangout. It’s a great little place to end up at after a ride.

Rode out here today the roundabout way. Stopped for a cerveza, listen to some music, and to take it easy for a bit.

I installed the Scala Rider G9x base to my helmet. I’m happy with my G9, but on the Harley I have difficulty hearing the radio, music, and forget about phone calls. The G9x let’s me plug in earbuds.

So, I ordered Radian custom molded earplugs, and molded the earbuds into the earplugs. Now, even at 75 mph I can easily hear the radio and music, over the sound of the bike and wind noise, with a low volume.

I was out enjoying some music on the cool, clear night and saw a brewery. Almost missed it. Hammered the brakes, crossed 2 lanes, and now I’m chilling out and enjoying a Bosque River Walker IPA before continuing on towards home.

No music here, but it is a pleasant environment.

Just installed the Android WordPress app on my phone. Maybe I can do better with updating this blog. Which, believe it or not is almost 15 years old.

Today is Saint Paddy’s day, 2016. I’m alive, my kids are alive and doing well. That actually means more than 99.99% of the people reading this know.

We live in New Mexico. Life is okay. Nora and Morgen are now going to a school they like. Data charter school. The Data stands for Digital Arts and Technology Academy. They are doing okay there. Unfortunately they take after me. Smart enough that school is boring, not smart enough to do the homework. 🙂 I’m curious if their ACT exams will be like mine. I scored in the bottom 25% for grades, and in the top 98% for test scores of those heading for college. Sounds like my kiddos.

My work at Sandia Labs is okay. As hard as I try I don’t seem to fit in. I am trying. Hopefully, someday, I’ll fit in.

I have my Harley that my buddy Paul built, which I am riding as much as possible. I’m planning a 2000+ mile adventure with my brother in law/friend Thomas at the end of May. Life on the mountain is as good as it can be.

Megan closed her pinky finger in the closet and shattered the bone of her right hand. Shattered, as in pieces. So, she’s slowly healing. We laughed that if it had been just a hair worse they would have had to amputate. Which means that for the rest of her life she could have claimed a run in with the Yakuza.

Maybe I’ll be more attentive to this site. Maybe not. It’s hard to update this when I end up deleting 90% of what I write. I think that I’m okay with my divorce, then I say something about my ex, while true, isn’t for public consumption. So, forgive me, sometimes it’s easier to just not say anything than what I actually think. It’s very difficult to write sometimes. Even when life is calm. As in the eye of a a storm. I know it’s about to hit the fan again before I’m ready.

Enough for the moment.
