So, work hasn’t been the best lately. In fact it’s gotten kind of stressful. I’m not sure how much this has to do with anything. But, today was enough that I’ve decided to take a couple of weeks off. Maybe not soon enough.

Blood sugars when I woke up 176. Pretty decent. Took my normal insulin intake for that.

Blood sugars before lunch 209. Odd, they went up. Took the insulin for that and 10 units for lunch.

Blood sugars before dinner. 456. WTF? Took 12 units of insulin.

Hour later blood sugars 370. Better, at least they are dropping.

Blood sugars an hour later 474. This is getting old. Took 12 more units of insulin plus 10 more units 15 minutes later for dinner.

Blood sugars an hour later 418. Again, bad but dropping.

Blood sugars an hour later 555. WFT?!?!? Pulled cartidge from pump, pulled insert from body, took an insulin shot of 10 units for the first time in 5 years since getting the pump. Reinserted a new insert, filled a new cartridge with insulin and cranked another 10 units of insulin through the pump.

555. That’s the highest blood sugar I’ve had since learning MRE’s are FULL of carbs just after Katina hit. 5 years ago.

It’s going to be one of those days.  That and the fact that if this insulin is stuck in a fat pocket or something and decides to actually start working some time later, well, I’ve enough “bad” insulin in me at this point to kill me. Literally. Should make for an interesting evening if nothing else. 55 units of insulin in less than 4 hours. My normal 24 hour intake is in the 60’s, including meals, basal, everything. Fingers crossed it all doesn’t decide to turn into workable insulin for some freaky reason.

Update: Woke up this morning at 7:30 with a 136 blood sugar. Well within norm for me. Looks like a bad batch of insulin in the pump last night or an insert gone bade. Either way, all is better now.
