I found this poem in a 1916 leather bound pocket book. It was made to fit in the pocket of a British uniform during WWI. It’s mainly filled with inspirational poems for soldiers at war, and has made for pretty interesting reading.

The Kings Highway by John Oxenham.

Lonely Brother
Art though lonely, O my brother?
Share thy little with another!
Stretch a hand to one unfriended,
So both thou and he
Shall less lonely be.
And of thy one loneliness
Shall come two’s great happiness.
