Ever had one of those days that was just good? Really good? Today I decided to take the day off from work. Got up early and dropped the kids off at school, came home and laid back down, and slept in. Then Roberta and I went and ran errands, to include stopping by  the mall and having a nice lunch at Islands, just the two of us.

Came home dropped off the groceries, went and picked up Molly and Nora from school, came home again and had a snack. Then headed down to the Pacific Grove Concours to check out the cars. I’ll post some pictures later. A LOT of nice cars down there.  We had an ice cream at the crazy guys place, and the girls and I wandered among the cars on a sunny Friday afternoon.

We headed home and John and his Dad came over for dinner. John is a computer geek friend from that little state of Texas. Roberta made Penna pasta with grilled prawns, garlic bread, and Caesar salad. After dinner we sat around, drank a few beers/wine  and just chatted for hours. John and his dad are both brilliant individuals and make for very interesting dinner guests. Dave has his PhD and works in the oil field industry, and John is working on his PhD while building some pretty bleeding edge computers. Like I said, bright guys. And yet, if you don’t engage them in deep conversation you probably wouldn’t know. Well, John’s a bit more geeky than his old man. (-: But, I resemble that myself sometimes.

All in all it was a great day. Good food, great company, interesting conversation.  We might be doing it again tomorrow. Sleep in then hit the Russo Steele auction in the early afternoon. Maybe get some Little Chicken House BBQ for dinner. Drink a few beers and pick on our poor Texas friends. Another good day in the making.
