I ran across this talk by Professor Hans Rosling during the 2007 TED conference. I not only found the information extremely interesting I also found the way the data is displayed to be very interesting. This was one of the best displays of complex statistical data that I have ever seen.

At the end of the talk is a comment about gapminder. Which is a website founded by Hans Rosling and dedicated to this type of data and display software, which is called Trendalyzer by the way, and seems to have been bought out by Google.
