We’ve decided to spend the last weekend in Scotland in a small Self-Catering Cabin just off of Loch Ness. (Web cam of the Loch) Sadly, this will be our first true holiday since moving to Scotland, and it will be on our last weekend here before moving back to the States.

I found the cabins by searching www.visitscotland.com and checking the Loch Ness area. Since it’s the off season we got a very good rate for two nights.

So, for our last hurrah we plan on driving up from Edinburgh Friday afternoon. Hopefully stopping by the Lochleven Castle enroute. There is a fiddle tune called Lochleven Castle that a co worker in Monterey California gave me. So, it would be nice to see the place the song was written for.

After exploring Loch Ness for a day and night we’ll drive back down the western route through Ft. Augustus and Ft. Williams.  I won’t even begin to describe the history of the places. I’ve linked them to the Undiscovered Scotland pages for further research if anyone is interested. They will make for nice stopping places on our way back down. We’ll spend all of Sunday working our way back down to Edinburgh.

Then, two days later we get on a plane headed back to the States. The end of our Scottish Adventure.
