Well, looks like we will be flying out of Seattle on Monday the 21st of January. We’ll be flying directly to Amsterdam and then on to Edinburgh.

Booking through Northwest Airlines would have cost around $1100 per person one way. Booking for the same flight through www.flights-to-europe.com cost about $540 per person. Now, I was pretty nervous booking our flights through an agency I had never heard of before. But I found the link on my favorite agency site www.kayak.com. So I figured I would roll the dice as it were. If you ever need to find flights, Kayak is one of the best sites I have found. It checks better than a dozen other web sites for the best prices then lists them out for you. Including Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheaptickets, etc etc.

I checked Northwest and found our reservations. So, all looks good.

If all goes well I might be able to recommend Flights-to-Europe. I’ll update after the flights and give a rating on travel suck. Travel Suck is the rating given to the airports, security, delays, etc etc.

I could have flown cheaper on United and also on Aer Lingus, the Irish airlines. However this flight is only 13 1/2 hours from door to door and the others were between 16 hours and 21 hours with multiple stops. Flying with the kids on a flight this long I decided to keep the flights as simple and short as possible.

Also, I’ve flown this flight when I went over to find a house in early December. It’s a long flight, but KLM/Northwest takes pretty good care of you. There are monitors in the backs of each seat and you have access to movies, music, maps, etc. You also get several meals and multiple snacks en route. I was pretty impressed. I think a flight like this would be a lot easier on the Girls than multiple 4-7 hour flights where the service would probably suck.
