On every Wednesday we have a local Jam session at the London Bridge Pub in Monterey California, from 8pm until 10pm. This session was originally started by Glenn Toll and is mainly an Irish/Celtic Jam session.

We usually end up with about 5-8 players on any given Wednesday. A couple of fiddles, an autoharp or two, a few flutes/recorders, guitars, mandolins, and even the occassional bagpipe.

This Wednesday I didn’t play, but instead took notes. Here is the session playlist with a few mistakes and ommisions. I had to get a beer ya know. That and I wasn’t there for the full time. This is probably only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the songs played.

London Bridge Pub Jam Session

Suddenly in the last three days I’ve been getting slammed by spam. Somehow a bot has gotten ahold of my web site and keeps adding very nasty and explicit spam to the site. I’ve been cleaning them by hand and have just upgraded the site with Akismet to try and keep the crap from actually showing in the posts.

51 spam attempts in the last 3 days. All from the same IP address. Which turns out to be running a http server called nginx which in turn is run mostly by russian websites. Looking at the full domain name I get the following A little playing and this links me to  which has a  “report abuse” page. I’ve put in my report. We’ll see if anything comes of it.

I’ll run nmap and some other port scanners and security scanners against the site later tonight and see what other fun and interesting things I can discover about this site. I feel that if they can spam me, well, I can return the favor.

By the way. The ip address shows as banned on many of the spam filter sites.

Well, I’ve been in a bad mood. Now I have someone to take it out on. Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Catch you in Cyberspace you spamming bastard!

For anyone who has checked this site lately you’ve probably noticed I haven’t written much lately. It’s not because life hasn’t been eventfull. It’s really just been a mood thing. I guess I’ve just been going through a down phase after all the crazy happenings of John’s death. Hopefully writing this note will break the ice and I can get back in the habit of dropping comments and thoughts on the web site again.

Some things that have happened since my last writing.

  • We went and saw the Hearst Mansion/Castle. Amazing place.
  • Nora and Molly turned 8.
  • Roberta started working at a Vet Clinic.
  • I’m working my tail off installing a 6+ Teraflop Linux Networx cluster.
  • I went and saw the doc and currently have the best a1c I’ve ever had. A 6.5,I usually run 6.8 to .6.9. Perfect blood pressure and perfect colesterol. So, I’m waiting to get hit by a bus.

Life has been moving on.
