Every year growing up we used to make Christmas cookies. I remember as a kid how fun it was and how as a teenager how irritating. Well, in keeping the tradition alive Molly, Nora, Roberta and I all made cookies and fudge while the “teenager” did the whole “I’m chilling with my friends and kindly go away!” act.

Fudge in the making. With the abligatory “I get to lick the blender!”

And those who know me know that I will NOT be helping with the Gingerbread. I still have nightmares. (-:

Hey Elaine,
I’d love to get a good shortbread recipe. It’s really good but I have no idea on how to make it. It could be a lot of fun.

I don’t know what scares me more…you with a knife, or you with a stick of butter. I’m gonna go with the butter.

Me: Hey, Scott, you want to see a photo of Rich? See, there’s Roberta and the twins. There’s Rich. There is Sullen Teenage Daughter.
Scott: He looks like a normal guy.
Me: What a shock.
Scott: Normal guys shouldn’t have to go through this.
Me: No.
Scott: I’m a normal guy.
Me: That’s debatable.
Scott: …
Me: But Rich looks like a normal guy.
