A friend of mine Jeff Tittle sent out a picture today showing the temperature on the Fred Meyer’s sign. Fairbanks in January can get a touch cold.
The caption from his email.
Shots taken at noon today. I threw a cup of hot water in the air and it instantly vaporized with a hissing noise. Nothing hit the ground. Brrrrrr
We lived here for just shy of 4 years. It actually got colder than this on occassion. I should add for the uninitiated that it’s not snowing, that’s ice fog. It get’s so cold that any moisture in the air freezes into tiny ice crystals and then just floats like a fog.
